Hey kids, it's carnival time again, and you know what that means.... CHURCH CAMP!
Which also means that there will be group or private counseling sessions, aimed at finally squashing that secret thing you've been combating but haven't been able to overcome. (YAY!)
Now, I urge you, be wise, before you go bearing your heart and soul to your respective camp leaders, make sure that the "transparency" they are requesting from you, is not like one of those "one way screens" in an episode of Law and Order

So while you're asked to delve into and reveal your deepest fears, doubts and of course, SINS, always ask yourself this question: Does my questioning counselor freely share with me the deep dark things that they are dealing with? And I don't mean the cliche stuff like "pride" and "I don't think I pray enough". Or things they "used to deal with" and have now overcome. I mean the things they deal with NOW, that are exactly as deep and "dark" and as guarded as your stuff.
If not, then two questions face you:
Just remember, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." ~ Proverbs 27:17
Anyways, have fun at Camp! and Don't do anything I wouldn't!
If not, then two questions face you:
- What does transparency really mean at my church? and
- Why would someone want to know all the deep hidden things in my life and not want to tell me the deep hidden things in theirs?
